Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the European Federation — International Society for Digestive Surgery (EFISDS) in partnership with The European Digestive Surgery (EDS) Society, it is our distinct pleasure to invite you to the EFISDS Annual Congress, scheduled from September 11 to 13, 2025, at the Academy of Applied Medical and Social Sciences, AMiSNS (Akademia Medycznych i Społecznych Nauk Stosowanych) in Elbląg, Poland.
 

This year’s congress, themed: Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Esophagogastric Junction Cancer, and Beyond: Multidisciplinary Innovations and New Technologies aims to convene a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including surgeons, gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, oncologists, and researchers. Our goal is to foster collaboration and share cutting-edge advancements in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), esophagogastric junction (EGJ) cancers, and related conditions.

Educational Objectives:

After participating in this educational activity, attendees will be able to:

  1. Enhance Diagnostic Proficiency: Apply advanced diagnostic techniques to improve the early detection and accurate staging of GERD and EGJ cancers.
  2. Integrate Multidisciplinary Treatment Strategies: Develop comprehensive treatment plans that incorporate surgical, medical, and endoscopic therapies for managing GERD and EGJ cancers.
  3. Incorporate Innovative Technologies: Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, such as minimally invasive surgical techniques, robotics, and artificial intelligence, to enhance patient outcomes.
  4. Analyze Research Developments: Critically assess recent basic science, translational, and clinical research findings to inform evidence-based practices in the management of GERD and EGJ cancers.
  5. Address Patient-Centered Care: Recognize and address the psychosocial aspects and quality-of-life considerations for patients undergoing treatment for GERD and EGJ cancers.

 

Call for Abstracts:

We invite participants to submit abstracts for consideration as oral presentations or poster exhibitions. Submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process, and outstanding abstracts will be honored with the EFISDS 2025 Award. For detailed submission guidelines and deadlines, please visit the official congress website: https://efisds2025congress.amisns.edu.pl/abstrakt.
